All classes are family style classes for children ranging in age from birth through age four.  This essential class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together.

Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Even our newborn music makers produce tones, shake their hands, tap their toes, wiggle, and absorb what others around them are singing and playing. The emphasis is upon creating a fun, informal, intergenerational musical experience powered by the caregiver/child dyad.  Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience. 

Classes are offered in 9 week semesters (fall, winter, spring) and 6 week summer semesters.  Weekly 45-minute classes include songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences--developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers--regardless of their own musical ability. Tuition includes: 

• illustrated songbook, CD and access code to unlock the  music in "Hello Everybody" app 
• Music Development and Growth Chart 
• "How to Support Your Child's Music Development" guidebook chock-full of the research behind every little thing we do in class

Fall, Winter, and Spring Tuition is $195 for the first child and $85 for siblings over nine months old. Summer tuition is $135 for the first child and $50 for siblings over nine months old. There is a $10 one-time registration fee for those new to Music Together of Hampton Roads. 

Sing Along and Pop-up classes are a great way for new families to experience a Music Together^® class. The cost is $22 for the first child and $10 for siblings over nine months old.
